What do we do?
Projects
In Shungo, we work to rebuild the social fabric through a holistic approach and an intersectional lens.
Individualized healing, collective transformation
In Ecuador, we have a saying for when a person is injured, physically or emotionally; one comforts by saying, “shungo shungo”, translating to ‘it will heal’. Shungu is the word for ‘heart’ in quichua.
In Shungo, we work towards the rebuilding of the social fabric through a holistic and interseccional lens. Our approach on collective transformation involves the participation of a diversity of women, along with that of our native communities and their environments, all in an effort to transform personal, collective, and economic life.
